why can’t you just buy stocks with dividends and leave them to children and make them wealthy?

buy stocks
Chris C asked:

Why can’t I buy companies stock like GE and acculmulte throughout my life and leave it to my children? Allowing them to live off the dividends alone and create a wealth for all future generations (assuming GE will never dissappear), why wouldn’t this work?

The stocks in their name you set distribution guidelines expensive.
The kid reaches 18 he can do whatever he wants with them and as soon as soon as soon as the stocks in their name you cant touch them unless you set trust fund.
