E W asked:

I heard I can buy stock through e*trade, Scottrade, Ameritrade, etc., however their regulations are complicated.

If, I have a saving or money market account with a bank, am I entitle to do etrade on my own?

Otherwise, which is the most economic way to buy stock?

Many thanks!

The product is new and it is on the stock market at a very low price. It will probably make money. Can he buy stock now and not get accused of insider trading when it goes way up?

Brandon asked:

Under the assumption that GM will make a comeback. Wouldn’t it be a great investment to buy stock while it’s dirt cheap? Are there any dead ends with this approach? Also, will stocks in GM go through a holding period during bankruptcy, or will they be readily available for the buy?
Ok. So in other words, the old (current) GM stock will be basically worthless and the “new GM” stock or “when issued” stock is what we need to set our minds on IF investing in this right? Anyone know how long that might be before it’s available?

chrstnwrtr asked:

I am curious to know; how would I go about buying shares or stock in a particular company? Would I go onto something like Ameritrade and buy stuff there?

Would I need to hire a stockbroker (which I don’t have the money to do)?
Bear in mind that I know little about buying stock.

GM’s stock price is around $3.00 a share as of today. Should I buy now or wait just a little bit longer to see if it drops even more?
